Bolex accessory kits, 13x Video Assist, and rear plates back in stock end of January.
Instruction - 13x Bolex Video Assist
Gently pull the rubber eyecup away from the camera viewfinder. Avoid tools, twisting, or force.
Set the diopter to the central position.
Place the video assist camera in place.
If you have the first version, adjust the clamp using the provided shims (0.05-0.10).
For the later version, simply tighten the nylon screw to adjust the clamp, but handle the nylon screws carefully.
Supply the camera with 12V DC (2.1mm) (±10%).
While a 12V-regulated cable is recommended for optimal performance, the camera can function when connected directly to a power source with a maximum voltage of 14.4V. There is no guarantee of consistent performance or long-term reliability when using unregulated power sources.
Depending on your video camera, connect the video assist camera to your monitor using either an SDI or HDMI cable.
Remove the lens from the turret or the bayonet mount of your Bolex camera. Ensure you don't touch the Bolex prism with your fingers.
Using your monitor, adjust the focus to the bolex ground glass texture.
Attach the lens to your Bolex camera.
Lastly, tighten the clamp-on adapter to ensure the secure attachment of the video assist to the Bolex camera.
Ensure the resolution of the video assist remains at 1920x1080, as changing it may cause connected devices not to recognize the signal.
