To power Bolex ESM motors, EBM and EL cameras must operate with a regulated 12V power supply.

Du-All Camera sells a regulated plate compatible with Bolex plates, available in V-Mount. They are compatible with Bolex cheese plate – rear , Bolex cheese plate – side and Bolex cheese plate – top.

Note for Bolex EL owners

The EL is hard to power from a battery. Starting the motor takes a high current, and the camera’s low-voltage detector cuts it off as soon as the voltage drops. If the battery or converter can’t deliver enough current, the camera runs a single frame and stops.

Regulated 12V plates and D-Tap cables may not work reliably with the EL. Please contact us before buying a power solution for an EL.
